If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading.”

Integrative Holistic Psychotherapist & Mindfulness Coach

Master of Arts in Mindfulness-based Transpersonal Psychology, Clinical Mental Health Counseling

It is through both my personal and professional life that I have developed a deep understanding of working with uncertainty, change, difficult emotions, and finding the possibilities and transformative power that can be found when we can sit with the unknown. I believe there is a compassion and empathy that can only come from personal experience with love, loss, grief, uncertainty, vulnerability, forgiveness and healing...not to mention wrestling with perfectionism, self doubts and existential questions of purpose and meaning.

We are all on a journey of becoming our most authentic true selves and living the truth of who we are. I certainly don't have all the answers, nor do I claim to be done getting my "shit together", but it is my soul's gift to be able to hold a safe space for your growth and transformation in a way that can make your journey more conscious, empowered, and guided by your heart and soul instead of by the fears and limiting beliefs in your mind.

Participating in counseling is a means of coming into deeper connection with Self, becoming more aware of your patterns of thinking, feeling, behaving, and expanding the capacity to consciously create your life.  Many people seek counseling for relief of the stress, pain, or suffering they are experiencing in their lives on a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels.  In my counseling practice, as in my personal life, I find that stress, discomfort and pain can be powerful catalysts for conscious change.  When we can find ways of bringing our full creativity, intelligence, and compassion to the challenge of looking deeply into our lives, counseling can become the beginning of a life-long process of self-reflection, self-discovery and liberation from confining definitions of self, others and the world.

I see my role as supporting you in actively investigating, cultivating, and mobilizing your innate potential for learning, growing, and healing, and for transforming personal suffering into an empowered way of embracing what life is teaching you. The integrative style of therapy and coaching I offer has a focus on somatic embodiment and may include Mindfulness, Transpersonal, Existential, Gestalt and Internal Family Systems approaches.

Transpersonal” refers our transcending of the personal and include one’s whole experience beyond the mind and ego identity. Transpersonal therapy takes a more holistic approach, addressing mental, physical, social, emotional, creative, and intellectual needs, with an emphasis on the role of a healthy spirit in healing. To facilitate healing and growth, transpersonal therapy places great emphasis on honesty, open-mindedness, and self-awareness on the part of the therapist as well as the client. Transpersonal psychology enhances the study of mind-body relations, spirituality, consciousness, and human transformation.

Mindfulness” refers to the act of bringing our conscious awareness to focus on the present moment without judgment. This can be easier said than done in times of stress or conflict. I incorporate neuroscience insights and body-centered tools for managing our emotions as they move through our nervous system. The countless benefits are integrated on a body, mind and spirit levels.

Internal Family Systems” (IFS) is a powerfully transformative model for working with our naturally occurring inner parts and inner conflicts. Our inner parts all have valuable qualities even though they may have become burdened by beliefs and patterns formed to protect us from painful circumstances in childhood. Our core Self knows how to heal, allowing us to become integrated and whole. The goal in IFS is for this core Self to consciously lead our lives with conscious responsiveness instead of the unintegrated scared/hurt/angry parts that can often react unconsciously with things like defensiveness and blaming. In IFS all parts are welcome and can return to their valuable essence when they have been healed and trust the core Self to lead.

What does the Momentum Catalyst spiral logo refer to?

Momentum Catalyst is centered on the idea that as we create personal movement forward toward the changes we desire, that this momentum builds on itself and helps inspire increased movement forward. The logo is a spiral diagram of the Golden Ratio which represents a beautiful form of exponential growth throughout the natural world.

The Golden Ratio has captivated mathematicians, artists, designers, and scientists for centuries. Also known as the Fibonacci sequence, its ubiquity and astounding presence in nature suggests its importance as a fundamental characteristic of the Universe. Today, its emergent patterns and ratios (phi = 1.61803...) can be seen from the microscale to the macroscale, and right through to biological systems and inanimate objects.

While the Golden Ratio doesn't account for every structure or pattern in the universe, it can be seen in extensive examples including flower petals, seed heads, ferns, pinecones, tree branches, shells, hurricanes, human bodies, faces, and fingers, animal bodies, bird flights patterns, spiral galaxies and DNA molecules. Historically, the Golden Ratio can be seen in the art and architecture of many ancient creations, like the Great Pyramids and the Parthenon, and in the art of Leonardo DaVinci, MC Escher and sacred geometry imagery.
